God bless the homeschool families out there, who took the time to raise their kids. It takes work.

I was homeschooled my whole life, and now I’m a junior in college, on the Dean’s list, and get A grades. I wouldn’t call anyone who homeschooled someone who would never be able to be in a major that requires skill. Honestly, someone who thinks homeschoolers don’t have skills are ignorant. Most of them are the smartest people I know. But this video is hilarious. It’s taking all of the cliches of homeschooling. Love it!

I pray that someday God will reveal Himself to you in a mighty and undeniable way. Many blessings to you, regardless of your religious view.

@EconomicImperialist Well, “do unto others.”

@EconomicImperialist “Believe” it or not, I have been seriously considering a math minor. And I am in fact quite capable in the field; perhaps not an innovator, but a capable student of it.
So two things: stop making such broad generalizations, acute (and offensive) accusations, and aiming to be offensive/insulting. That only gets you places in politics.

Oh, and the other problem I have with homeschooling (AND I APOLOGIZE FOR GENERALIZING) is that it tends to promote creationism, which is one of the most destructive blights to mankind.

@EconomicImperialist Joke or not - your aim has been and seems to continue to be consistent: trying to offend me, my position, and experiences (even as you say “insults aside”). What I take offense to is your persistence in generalization. Unfortunately, yes; there are people who “default” to homeschooling (and the English major) at the point where “all else fails.” But you *cannot* generalize an entire group the way you have been and continue to do. This is like saying “all men love football.”

Cherrypicking. You have some nerve accusing ME of fallacies :P

LOL the 1000 years thing was quite obviously a joke (hence the “R 4 EVAH”). Besides, Cryonics FTW!!! XD

In all seriousness, insults aside, the problem with homeschooling is that it fosters the development of fringe skills rather than essential mainstream skills.Without meaning to offend you, I actually believe you would not be able to study mathematics if you chose to. Indeed, I believe the English major is for people who aren’t smart enough to do a real major.

@EconomicImperialist Also, again I say you should do a little research before you make a broad, generalized accusation of any group of people - homeschoolers included.

Albert Einstein, Blaise Pascal, Booker T. Washington, George Washington Carver, Pierre Curie. Familiar names?

@EconomicImperialist You assume because I *chose* to study English that I *cannot* study mathematics - again with the non sequitur. Notice: I have not devalued mathematics; rather, I have chosen a field of study that appeals to me *more.*

If you’re basing value on longevity, then you too will be (long) dead in 1000 years, sir. If you are going to persist in your insults and fallacies you’ll hear no more from me. I have no interest in conversing with someone whose only goal is to raise my ire.

TheDracowulf @ 1:40 pm

Lily

@EconomicImperialist I won’t lie; your motives for inquiring as such seem somewhat suspect to me. But I’ll oblige in good faith. I’m an English major with no concentration as of yet - although I have dabbled in the sciences and other humanities. Why do you ask?

@TheDracowulf
what are you studying at college?

@EconomicImperialist I am at least smart enough to know better than to insult other people’s intelligence without basis, sir. :)
Believe as you will; I won’t attempt to change your heart - that’s not my job. But perhaps you should research your broad generalization - as well as refrain from straw man, non sequitur arguments.

Good day to you.

It is so true. When I went to school after 11 years of homeschool I was 4 years above kids my age in school meaning it is 1/3 and a quarter times better than normal plus I didn’t have to listen to those intellectually retarded people who disgrace the word teacher by calling themselves that.

@EconomicImperialist that’s debatable. I’ve done it all: public, private, and home school. For some of public school I did receive a good education, but that was thanks more to the devotion and quality of the teachers. I also had horrible public school teachers who, instead of pushing me to learn more, let me goof off while I waited the 30min-1hr for the rest of the class to finish the assignments. I was more socially active and learned far more when I was home schooled than the other times.

Well, I agree with the latter part of your statement. Nonetheless, homeschooling is still inferior to ordinary schooling.

EconomicImperialist @ 10:06 pm

@TheDracowulf
You have been condemned to a life of stupidity as a result of your homeschooling. “God” does not exist, he is a delusion which has resulted from homeschooling indoctrination. I can only hope that your children do not suffer the same fate.

Lol. My best friend has been home schooled her entire life, and she has no idea how jealous I am of her and her siblings. I **** school!
And I’m behind in credits because of so many useless classes they make us take in school, and I really feel that if I were home schooled, I’d be doing better, both academically and socially… school made me a social retard. =/
My parents won’t let me home school.. T_T

(Sorry, I had to rant..)
