Is it possible for me to find someone to home school my 15 year old daughter at this point in the year?

Jennifer asked:

She was inflicted a mental illness, and she has been missing school because of it, I am not quilified as a teacher, nor am i home to do so. Me and my husband both work full time. I wish to find someone in the Long Island area in which i live.

Thank you so much,
God Bless!

What kind of illness? My brother goes to special education school. Most schools have this program for mentaly retarded kids. Hmm….you don’t have to be a qualified teacher to do this, because im 13 and my mom homeschools me, but since you work that would be dificult. What about her grandparents? Im not sure what you should do. Sorry i haven’t helped that much.

Perhaps you could ask her school counselor if they have a “home bound” program where she can complete her work and be visited by a teacher once a week in her home.

With homeschooling, you would be responsible for choosing your daughter’s curriculum and making sure she completes it. If you don’t want to homeschool, your best bet would be to find an alternative program through your daughter’s school.

Hope this helps! I hope your daughter feels better soon.
