YES! I’m home schooled and its told to be so much easier then real school cuz its only like 2 hours and its less stressfull and you don’t get stressed learning about things :), no bully, no grades untill like 7th grade, and lunch time at anytime and ya get to do it whenever you want

For us, it’s a constant adventure– field trips several times a week, volunteer work, activities and classes with our homeschool co-op, a lot of projects and hands-on experiements, camping trips, gardening, theater, lots of art projects.
It’s a very busy, very productive, very social lifestyle for us.
As to whether it is better than public school– that depends on the individual and the family. It’s a personal choice. Whether it is better or not is subjective.

Many kids leave school and then sit around at home, waiting to be told what to do. Since nobody’s forcing them to do anything, they do nothing and then go back to school with the idea that homeschooling *****.

Yes, I think so. I homeschooled my entire life until college. I Loved homeschooling because I got to focus my time on things I Loved doing and really get involved with things I enjoyed. If I’d been in school I would have missed out on alot of things. You could try it for a year and if you don’t enjoy it, you could always go to school. There are plenty of ways to meet people without going to school.

It has the potential to be. If your family works together and lessons are interesting, it can be fantastic. We do not allow ourselves to get bored. I don’t know about the girl with the unfortunate cousin. That sounds like distance learning with absent parents. That is not homeschooling. I’m here for my child every day. I have to say, we work more than any two hours a day. Maybe that works for older, more disciplined kids, but not for my 10yr old. That is the great thing about homeschool! When you complete your lessons, you are done. You don’t wait quietly for the rest of the class to catch up. If you are not that quick, you don’t feel like a heel while the rest of the class waits for you to get done. Like someone said before me, it is what you make it.
It completely depends on how the homeschooling is done, the student in question and the public school that is available.
If the home school has supportive parents who are dedicated to making it work, including finding social outlets for the kids, then home school can be great.
Not all parents are willing or able to dedicate themselves to make it work. Public school can be a better choice in that case.
The vast majority of kids I know who homeschool, or who have homeschooled, love homeschooling. This includes those who were previously in public schools or who ended up in public schools for a variety of reasons. But they’ve had good, dedicated parents who made homeschooling a good experience.
Home schooling is just one of many forms of schooling available to students, and parents.
There is home school, private, private Christian, or other religious, charter, virtual, and public.
Only you, and your parents can choose the right method for your individual education.
Many, including myself do not feel that any conventional school setting private, or public is the right choice for their families.
Home schooling is more than merely academics; it is a life style.
We believe that children, and young adults do much better in a flexible environment where they can learn at their own pace, and follow their interests so they do not have to spend 12 years in a school to get where they need to go.
For those, and many other reasons we do think that home schooling offers a much better education, and is therefore the better/only choice for our family.
It truly does depend on the person. My family homeschooled all three of us but did send my brother to school for the last few years of high school. He wanted to go to school and they sent him. As for me, I loved being homeschooled and feel like it better prepared me for college, the world, and my career. Overall, I do think homeschool is better than public school and if I had to send my kids to school it would be a private school. My kids will never go to public school.

You work at your own pace..yes, you work 2 hours a day and get a lunch break. but the homeschool i’m in..it only offers field trips one in 2 months. and no other extra circulating activities, No volunteer work, no classes 2gether and none of what others said. i guess it all depends on the home school you are going to take. I wouldnt suggest it. Im taking homeschool right now, and i really regret it. I am definitely going back to either public school or a private school with kids. Its really lonely to be home all by yourself the whole day. but if you arent that social..homeschool may work out fine.
