What part is too hard? The schoolwork, the pace that you must do the work, or the environment? This will give those who wish to respond a clear picture.

i’ve been homeschooled my whole life and i love it. im still homeschooled, and will be the rest of my life. im going into middle school this year, and im doing my school online. I love being homeschooled. and if you do it online, your mom wouldnt have to do anything. and i love it becuase im really shy, and i don’t have to talk to anybody, like i dont have to give presentations or anything. and, you can sleep in :)

Homeschooler’s still have to do schoolwork, so if you are thinking of getting out of that, let me burst your bubble.
There are various methods of homeschooling,
–online schooling is becoming more popular, but usually you have to turn in some sort of assignments to either your mother or a school outside of your home
–There is also one-on-one schooling, and that is a little more labor intensive for your mother, she will spend some time teaching you and will have to review your assignments, but because you are a little older you would be able to do a lot on your own.
–a very popular method of homeschooling involves a mixture of video/online classes and traditional teaching from your mother

Pros: you typically can go at your own pace (so that you can spend more time on something if you don’t get it), you get a lot of one on one time with the parent homeschooling you (but this can be a negative if you aren’t very respectful of your mom), there is more time for extra activities like going to concerts and plays
Cons: Homeschooling can be pretty expensive, but probably about equal to private school; if you don’t get along with your mom homeschooling can exacerbate the problem; if you aren’t self-disciplined you will fall behind in your studies; if your mother works she will have to quit her job or work reduced hours

**you will have to work to make sure that you don’t fall behind in your work and that you get socialization time (be it through care groups or co-ops)
**your mom does not have to be the one who homeschools you, your dad may want to

homeschooling is a big commitment, think carefully about it and respect your parent’s decision

At your age, your mom shouldn’t have to do a lot of work no matter what curriculum you use. It’s your education and you should step up and be responsible for yourself. If you do online school, everything is done for you, just like in a regular school. If you do workbooks, you should be able to do most all of it yourself, with your mom grading your work, which would take about an hour a day. I was home schooled for 4 years and loved it. There is really nothing to dislike. Beware, just because you switch schools doesn’t mean that the work will be easier. But definitely stay away from public schools. Peer pressure there is awful.

If you went to an online school such as k12 your mom really doesn’t really have to do any of your school with you. She may have to check it but online high school programs usually have lessons planned out for you so you can pretty much do them your self. They also have online teachers if you need help. I love the freedom of homeschooling, there are basically no restrictions as long as you can complete your work in time. I don’t like being left out of all of the public school activity’s.

Okay…so most private schools are over 1,000 dollars a year. Homeschooling is NO WHERE near that expensive. I think the most my parents have spent for my sister and my schoolbooks for one year is 500!
We use ABeka (Which is school books, and someone would have to grade it for you) and some SOS (Switched on Schoolhouse- A program for the computer. It grades most things for you, your mom or dad would have to grade projects and reassign things if you need it)
We also used Teaching Textbooks (Only for Geometry)

Homeschooling is cheaper than private schools. I’m considering it. I feel the same you do. There are curriculums like Abeka and Alpha and Omega that don’t require you to have any help. If you do need it they will help you through the phone. My mom is not so convinced on it. You should talk to your parents about this. It is a big desicion. What most people **** about it is not having many ways to make friends and socialize. YOur mom would probaly only have to give you the test and quizzes, and make sure you don’t cheat.
