OMG same happend to meeh!! IM HOMESCHOOLED NOW!! THERES NOTHING U CAN DO ABOUT IT!! its very horrible cuzz im socialbe too! just go along with it then next year ask ur mom since u did it all faithfully if u can go to a skool of ur choice! thts wat i did and next year ill be going to CCSN!!

Your mother is probably responding to the statistics that show, over and over again, that home schooled children do better on every standardized test anyone can throw them. Or she may be concerned that the “social life” in the local public school is not in your best interests. Why not rely on non-school activities, clubs, sports, etc., to be your social life? Or tell Mom that, since you won’t be seeing them at school, you will need to be able to invite friends over to your house to hang out more often. Chances are, they will love coming over after school to tell you how lucky you are not to have to go there!

Don’t fight it, Honey; it really is better for you, if you make the effort.

I believe it for your own good. Your mom is just looking out for you. Studies show public schools are getting worser by the moment. Since you are socialable try and have her meet you half way and tell her you will be home schooled but you are going to go out with your friends

For quite some time I hated homeschooling as well but eventually grew to love it. Have your mom check in your area for homeschool groups. In my area, we have homeschool co-ops that meet like school once or twice a week to teach some of the harder subjects. My sister is also currently involved in a play production group for homeschoolers. I’m from a really small town so I can’t imagine that there aren’t any groups near you, too There are a lot more social oportunities for homeschoolers than you’d think. Good luck!
