Does a home school student with an average GPA but great SAT score have a good chance of getting into UCF?
dana w asked:
I’m worrying about the fact that I’m a home school student and won’t be able to get a standard high school diploma. However, I’ve completed all of the required courses for admission into UCF and my SAT score was definitely above average. Any home school students have advice?
I don’t have a bad GPA. I meant average compared to the other UCF applicants, roughly 3.5.

What is an average GPA? 2.0 ? (C) and how do you have a gpa when home schooled.. I don’t think they will go for that. You got a GED?. If they don’t let you in just go to valencia for 2 years (its right down the street) then go to UCF.

Ask UCF what the qualifications are. Then you will no for sure.

How could you be home schooled and have a low GPA? Your mom must be tough. Colleges look very closely at SAT so you should be alright.

Adverse to other answers, UCF does not accept everyone, and you do not need to get a GED. Their acceptance rate is 48%, average SAT is 1217. If you were home schooled most of high school, I suggest highlighting community involvements and interests to show you are well rounded, have social skills and the like.
I am currently an undergraduate student working in the admissions office.
